I invited Deacon Kevin to conduct a Day of Recollection for our deacons and their wives. Our goal was to focus on community and discuss the four dimensions of the diaconate as they apply not only to the deacon but to his family as well. Deacon Kevin addressed the positive aspects of the diaconate as well as the challenges in a concise manner using real-life ministry examples with sensitivity and humor. He encouraged discussion and interaction among the couples and everyone commented that it was the best time spent not only reigniting the flame of their vocation but also in bringing the group together as the community of service God intended it to be.
